There is a long-time thought the middle of this short film where the director hung back with medium to long shots when the story was begging for a close up particularly in the park during the picnic scenes on Helen so we get to know her better. A wide cover shot can get tedious especially when you have back and forth conversations.

Ok. Your attempt at a cute story failed.

I agree the shots at the park begged and pleaded for close ups on all the characters.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE:
Thanks, Edgy! I agree with you on the close-ups. It was important to get to know Helen in that scene, but you know what they say about hindsight.

Who are you Movie Critic, and why do you think Altzheimer's is supposed to be cute? For those of us who have witnessed it, it is lonely and painful. It was, in fact, inspired by a scene I witnessed as a 15 year old nursing home volunteer (a long time ago) playing records (to tip you off as to how long ago) to "disoriented" seniors in the hour before their dinner time.

On one such occasion, a woman visiting her husband/father? had the sweetest, most one-sided conversation with a man who did not even so much as blink at her. It was only after she left, however, that he lifted his hand in the direction she went and started moaning from the depths of his soul. So, in short, I was K.C. witnessing the scene, and I was Helen observing "no love is ever wasted...someone, somewhere catches it." I am the one who caught it and that scene I witnessed haunts me today.

Next year, Movie Critic, try your own film. This was my first time directing, and I had blast.

Special thanks to all the wonderful actors and production crew who made this possible. You did a tremendous job in bringing this story to life!
